Practical Test

The two part practical motorcycle test is now in force.

There has been a lot of speculation about this event
A lot of people are saying that the test is going to be more difficult
and that the law is changing etc. etc.

What has happened is the test has been split into two parts. You will have to
be able to demonstrate the skills you learn on CBT i.e. figure of 8 riding,
and other slow riding skills. The emergency stop and U turn are also
being done off road.

So, previously, the U turn was done on a public road, parked cars,
camber and all. In the new test it will be done on flat piece of tarmac, 7.5 meters
wide with no kerbs, cars or cambers - which sounds more difficult?

To view videos of both parts of the new test please click here.

Plan of the first part of the new test is at the end of the page.

The downside is additional training will be required to cover the new elements
and this will, unfortunately, mean a rise in cost. Personally, I will be trying
to keep this to a minimum to remain competitive.

I have tried new style test at an open day at Enfield.
I honestly believe the new test will be no more difficult than the current set up. It's different but, with the additional days training, easily achievable.

If you have any questions in the mean time please get in touch.
